Doogan Named A-10 Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Richmond Women's Basketball Team has the honor of highlighting sophomore Maggie Doogan as this week's Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after her stellar performance in the Vibrant Thanksgiving Classic in Des Moines, Iowa, the league office announced on Monday.
Doogan, with her career first A-10 Player of the Week honor, helped lead Richmond to 3-0 this past week, picking up huge wins against Maine (W, 77-43), Drake (W, 74-66) and Louisiana Tech (W, 83-56).
Against Maine, Doogan, posted 27 points on 9 of 13 from the field and 2 of 4 from deep along with seven rebounds. Against Drake, she posted 14 points and another seven rebounds and 21 points against the Lady Techsters with six more rebounds. She is currently on a six-game streak scoring in double figures. For the week, she averaged 20.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.7 apg, and had a 59.5 FG%, 62.5 3FG% and a 72.7 FT%.
Prior to the tournament, Drake was riding an eight-game home win streak prior to the game and was 34-10 at home over the past three seasons before the game against the Spiders. Richmond evened the series with Drake all-time (1-1), is now 2-0 over Maine all-time and posted the first program win over La. Tech (1-0).
Last season, she was named A-10 Rookie of the Week twice (1/23/23, 1/30/23), to the A-10 All-Rookie team and the A-10 All-Conference Third team.
Doogan and the Spiders continue their non-conference slate at Villanova on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. and will return to the Robins Center on Dec. 3 to play host to Le Moyne at 2 p.m.
