Wierman Named Academic All-District®; Spiders Earn First United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award Since 2015

RICHMOND, Va. The University of Richmond Women's Soccer team has the honor of highlighting graduate Molly Wierman to the Academic-All District Women's Soccer Team. In addition, the Spiders were also earned United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award following the conclusion of the 2023 season.
Wierman, a Sea Girt, N.J. native, rounded out her tenure with the Spiders this season and started all 18 matches. The graduate led the team in goals (4), recorded two assists in the match against Saint Joseph's on 9/17/23 and had 36 shots with 21 on target through 1,212 minutes for 10 points on the year.
Wierman recorded the first goal for the Spiders this season against Longwood on 8/17/23, leading Richmond to its first season-opening win since 2016. She posted a season-high five shots against Rhode Island on 10/19/23 and a season-high three shots against Charlotte on 9/10/23. She also finished fourth in the A-10 in shot accuracy with a 58.3 SOG percentage. In addition, she was also named to the All-A10 Academic team.
The team also has been named a United Soccer Coaches Academic Team, the team's first accolade since 2015. Previously, the team earned academic honors in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
