Men's Lacrosse Bolsters Roster With New Signings
11/08/2023 | Men's Lacrosse
Richmond, Va. — Head Coach Dan Chemotti and the University of Richmond men's lacrosse team will unveil its 2024 signing class over the following weeks. Wednesday, Nov. 8 marks National Signing Day, where prospective student-athletes enrolling in college in 2024 are first eligible to sign a National Letter of Intent.
"The 2024 graduating class is an exceptional group both on paper and the field hailing from across the country and Canada," said Chemotti. "These men are impressive athletes with a wide range of skills who have demonstrated incredible loyalty and passion for the University of Richmond. Each year, the incoming class raises the bar while maintaining the culture and expectations of a championship program. We anticipate this class will continue to elevate our program on and off the field."
Richmond is one of the nation's most successful men's lacrosse programs, having reached the NCAA Tournament in five of the last nine seasons. The Spiders, named inaugural Atlantic 10 Conference champions in May, have played in nine straight conference championship games, the longest active streak in Division I. In ten seasons of existence under Chemotti, the Spiders have averaged over nine wins a year and are a staggering 45-11 in conference games. The A-10 title last season marked the third different conference Chemotti and the Spiders have won championships in (Atlantic Sun, Southern, Atlantic 10).
Continuing its progression to one of the nation's premier men's lacrosse programs, the Spiders announced an exciting 2024 home slate of games, including four against teams that finished in the top 10 of last year's final polls: national runner-up Duke, in-state foe Virginia and perennial powers Georgetown and Maryland.
As student-athlete's sign their National Letter of Intent, their names and bio information will be added here. Fans can follow @SpiderMLAX on X and Instagram to stay current on the signings.
