Richmond, Va. — Three members of the University of Richmond football team— offensive lineman Ryan Coll, punter Aaron Trusler and linebacker Tristan Wheeler— have been named to the Division I FCS All-ECAC team.
This year, Coll helped the Spiders rank second in the CAA in completion percentage as quarterback Kyle Wickersham ranked second in the country in completion percentage at .726 with Coll in front of him. Richmond's redzone offense was second in the CAA at 0.867 percent and the Spiders averaged 345 yards and 28.2 points per game. Richmond was fourth in the CAA and 19th nationally in first downs with Coll's offensive line leading the way.

This season, Trusler averaged 41.5 yards per punt and pinned 26 kicks inside the 20-yard line—a conference high. Trusler led the Spiders to first in the CAA in net punting with an average of 39.9 yards per kick. In the William & Mary game, he recorded a career-long 76-yard punt, tying for the sixth-longest in program history. During the Elon game he executed a crucial first down off a fake punt, covering 21 yards. Of his 63 punts this season, only 10 were returned, totaling a mere 22 yards—the second fewest in the FCS.
Wheeler helped lead a Richmond defense that stood at or near the top of FCS football in three key statistical categories including takeaways (26, T-4), defensive touchdowns (5, T-1) and interceptions (16, T-7) and the team scored 83 of it's 366 points (25.9 percent) off turnovers this season. Wheeler tallied 17 tackles against Morgan State, the second-most tackles in a single game in his career. With his fourth tackle of the contest against Delaware State, Wheeler reached the 400 career tackles mark, becoming just the seventh Spider ever to reach the milestone. During the Campbell game, Wheeler moved to second all-time on the Spiders career tackles list and during the Elon game, he eclipsed the 100 tackles mark for the fourth-straight full season of football (2019, 2021 fall, 2022, 2023).Players Mentioned
