Wernink Tabbed A-10 Performer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Richmond Men's Tennis team has the honor of highlighting graduate Alex Wernink as this week's A-10 Performer of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday. This is Wernink's first weekly honor and the team's first since Matthew Fernandez the week of Feb. 6, 2019.

Wernink, a native of Glen Cove, N.Y., helped lead the Spiders to a 3-0 weekend with wins over Binghamton (4-0), Brown (4-3) and Army (4-0) in West Point.

The Spiders look to continue their win streak, traveling to Annapolis, Md. to take on Georgetown on Feb. 10 and Navy on Feb. 11. The Spiders will open the 2023 home slate with a doubleheader against Methodist on Feb 24, and will play host to Hampton on Feb. 26.
