Spiders Take Down Lancers on the Road Wednesday Afternoon

FARMVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond Women's Tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Longwood Wednesday afternoon in Farmville, Va. With the win, the Spiders improved to 4-6 overall while the Lancers fell to 3-5.
Andrea Campodonico and Claire Le Du picked up a huge win, 6-2 on doubles court two while Leonor Oliveira and Elizabeth Novak picked up a 6-4 win on court three to give the Spiders the doubles point.
In singles action, Oliveira won 6-4, 6-1 on court one while Campodonico defeated her opponent, 6-1. 6-3 on court three. Novak posted a hard-fought 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 win in her singles match while Le Du won 6-4, 6-3 and Polina Shitikova won 6-1. 6-3 on court six.
The Spiders will take off to the Lone Star State over spring break, taking on SMU on Mar. 5 at 6 p.m., TCU on Mar. 6 at 3:30 p.m. and Stephen F. Austin on Mar. 7 at 2 p.m.
