Richmond, Va.- The University of Richmond Track & Field program heads to N.C. State this weekend to compete in the infamous Raleigh Relays. Selected Spiders will take part in the action from Thursday to Saturday.
11 women from the team are traveling to Raleigh as 2 of the men's Cross Country members will be joining them.
Freshman Nina Lavelle is set for a busy trip as she is set to participate in the 100m dash and the 200m dash. Lavelle is coming off of a successful weekend where she placed second in the 100m with a time of 12.78 and eighth place in the 200m at 26.01 at the home event of the Fred Hardy Invitational.Â
The 400m will be in representation from Virginia Beringer.
Lindsay Colflesh, Caroline Donohoe, Kyra Keurentjes, Kayla O'Connell and Kate McAndrew will all race in the 800m for Richmond. Looking back at the Fred Hardy Invitational, six members of the Spider's squad finished in the top ten. O'Connell, Keurentjes and Donohoe were among those six. The 800m has been a strong point for the Spiders through the year.
The 1500m will be action-packed for Richmond as well with Kyra Keurentjes, Kayla O'Connell, Kate McAndrew and Dylan Miller taking part.Â
These two members have been extremely consistent and will race the Spiders in the 5k; Madison Trippett and Elizabeth Stockman will represent Richmond with the distance.
Olivia Grace will partake in the long jump this weekend. Last week she was able to to take fifth at the Fred Hardy Invitational with an attempt of 5.02m.
A 4x400 squad will work together for the Spiders in the event. Virginia Beringer, Kayla O'Connell, Kyra Keurentjes and a member to be announced will fight hard to place Richmond at the top for this meet.
On the men's side, Jake Schindel will race in the 1500m and Cooper Groat will race in the 800m.Â
