Kliebhan Named to Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team; Karpinski and Walsh Highlight Second Team

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Richmond Men's Tennis team has the honor of highlighting junior Daniel Kliebhan on the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, while graduates William Karpinski and John Walsh were named to the All-Conference Second Team, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Kliebhan, a Newton, Pa. native, compiled a 13-8 record in singles play and a 13-7 mark in doubles action. Earlier this season, he was named to the 2023 A-10 MTEN Preseason All-Conference Team, as well as the CSC 2023 Academic-All District Team.
In the 2023 home-opening win against Methodist on Feb. 24, 2023, he picked up a 6-2, 6-4 singles win over Hurley (MU) on court one and a 6-1 win on court one in doubles action alongside Karpinski. The ace also posted a significant doubles victory alongside Karpinski on court one, 6-3, against William & Mary on Apr. 5, 2023. Kliebhan also secured the lone singles victory in the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Davis (WM) on singles court one. In the postseason, he clinched the doubles point in the A-10 Championship quarterfinal against Fordham alongside Karpinski with a 6-3 win on court one.
Karpinski, a Potomac, Md. native, ended the year with a 9-10 record in singles action and a 13-7 mark in doubles play. He picked up his first doubles win in the Spider win over Binghamton on Feb. 4, 2023, 6-3 alongside Kliebhan on court one. In the A-10 Championship quarterfinal against Fordham, Karpinski posted a 6-4, 6-2 win on court two to clinch the match for the Spiders.
Walsh, a Bryn Mawr, Pa. native, recorded a 10-9 singles record and an 11-7 mark in doubles play. Prior to the season, he was named to the 2023 A-10 MTEN Preseason All-Conference Team. He picked up a key singles victory in the Spider victory over Brown with a 2-6, 7-6(7), 7-6(5) win over Worth (BROWN) on court four and then posted a significant 6-3, 6-4 victory over Haikal (ARMY) in the Spider's 4-0 win over Army on court three.
Walsh had the honor of recording the first singles victory in the A-10 Championship quarterfinal against Fordham with a 6-2, 6-3 victory on court three and then went on to clinch the doubles point for the Spiders in the A-10 Championship semifinal against Dayton with a 6-3 victory on court two alongside Alex Wernink. In singles action against the Flyers, he posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory on court three.
