Spiders Football Adds Future Dates With Furman

Richmond, Va. — University of Richmond Athletics Thursday afternoon announced the addition of a pair of games against Southern Conference foe Furman for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. The Spiders will host the Paladins at Robins Stadium in 2026 before traveling to Greenville, S.C. for the 2027 matchup.
Once SoCon rivals, the teams met for the first time in 1922 and Richmond holds a 15-10 advantage in the all-time record. The last meeting between the teams came in 2005 during the Division I-AA Playoffs Quarterfinals in Richmond. The Spiders last trip to Paladin Stadium came in 2003.
Furman (1988) and Richmond (2008) have both won national championships— a feat nearly unheard of for private institutions of their size.
Up next, Richmond hosts Hampton for Family Weekend Sept. 30 before welcoming Maine for another home game on Oct. 7. Tickets for both games can be purchased here or by calling the ticket office at 1-877-SPIDER-1.
