
Spiders Card Best Round of Season at Lady Blue Hen Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — The Richmond Spiders opened the Lady Blue Hen Invitational with a 7-over 295 in Round 1 Saturday morning, carding their best round of the fall season. UR followed it up with a 21-over 309 in Round 2 and is tied for sixth on the 10-team leaderboard at 28-over par (604).
Junior Hannah Lydic led the Spiders Saturday, shooting rounds of 70 (-2) and 76 (+4) to finish the day at 2-over (146), tied for ninth among all golfers. Sophomore Maya Beasley is also in the top 20 in a tie for 15th at 5-over par (149).
Senior Lauren Jones is tied for 24th at 8-over par (152), junior Olivia Wilkie (+13) is tied for 47th, and freshman Katie Magner (+26) is in 65th place.
On the leaderboard, Richmond is staring up at fifth-place Quinnipiac (+22), fourth-place Yale (+17), third-place Penn (+16), second-place Georgetown (+14), and 36-hole leader Delaware (+8).
Three Spiders are competing as individuals at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. Heather Appelson is tied for 43rd at 11-over par, Christine Mandile is tied for 53rd at 14-over par, and Caroline Thompson is in 59th at 17-over par.
Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 AM.
