Spiders Podium Nine Times, Earn Gold in Three Events to Finish Second At Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships

Virginia Beach, Va. – The University of Richmond track & field team made nine trips to the podium including a trio of gold medal performances over two days to finish second at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
The Spiders broke the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships meet record held by Richmond's 2020 squad to earn their sixth-consecutive 4x800m title behind a 8:53.60 performance from Madison Trippett, Kyra Keurentjes, Dylan Miller and Morgan Lyons. With their mark, Richmond now holds the fourth and fifth-fastest 4x800m times in the NCAA this season.
The Spiders won the 4x400m to close out the championships with Nina Lavelle, Elke Van der Westhuizen, Blaiklyn Clayton and Virginia Beringer running the second-fastest time in program history with a 3:46.20.
Kyra Keurentjes earned Richmond's individual gold with a 2:51.38 showing in the 1,000m run. Dylan Miller followed with a personal best of 2:53.28 for fourth and Isabel Blaylock crossed at 2:56.82 for seventh.
Madison Trippett earned her second silver medal of the championships, this time claiming second in the mile with a time of 4:51.94. Behind Trippett, Elizabeth Stockman ran a 5:10.91 for 12th, Allison Colflesh clocked a 5:15.10 for 17th and Brooke Reif crossed at 5:22.87 for 23rd.
Caroline Donohoe took silver in the 800m after running a 2:09.36 and tying her personal best, which is also Richmond's seventh-fastest mark in program history. Morgan Lyons followed closely behind with a 2:09.97, which comes as a PR and Richmond's ninth-best all-time mark, to claim fourth.
In the field events, Alicia Dawson leaped to another silver medal performance when she recorded a 39-11.50 (12.18m) to take silver in the triple jump. Dawson also finished 18th in the high jump with a mark of 5-0.50 (1.54m), good enough for 10th all-time for the Spiders.
Elke Van der Westhuizen took second in heat one of the the 400m dash finals with a 56.09 to finish fifth overall. Van der Westhuizen's mark is an improvement of her personal best set Friday (56.24) and moves her to fifth all-time in program history.
Gabrielle Cummings crossed at 7.80 and Alicia Dawson ran a 7.80 to go seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 60m dash finals, Blaiklyn Clayton ran a 24.67 in the 200m dash finals to take sixth and Elizabeth Stockman clocked a 10:01.42 for ninth in the 3,000 while Laurel Kurtz followed with a 10:12.30 for 13th.
