RICHMOND, Va. – Despite a singles win from sophomore Mark Taranov, and a doubles win from Spider duo Dylan Atkinson and Sebastian Miano, the University of Richmond men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought battle, 6-1, against VCU Wednesday afternoon at the Willow Oaks Country Club in Richmond. With the loss, the Spiders fell to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play while the Rams improved to 3-2 and 1-0 in conference action.

In doubles, Atkinson and Miano defeated Voelzke/Sansano (VCU), 5-4, for the lone doubles win on court No. 3. In singles action, Taranov handled business on court No. 6, downing Voelzke (VCU), 6(0)-7(5), 6-3, 11-9.
