03/20/2024 | Women's Golf
RICHMOND, Va. — Spiders sophomore Hannah Lydic has been named the Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Lydic was honored after winning this week's Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
Lydic shot rounds of 76, 72, and 73 for a combined score of 221 (+5) and the second win of her collegiate career and first since the 2022 William & Mary Fall Invitational. Lydic led the Spiders to a runner-up finish in the 16-team field, their second straight top-two result after winning last month's RiverTowne Invitational. With the win, Lydic became the third golfer in program history to win multiple full-field events, joining Sophie DiPetrillo and Caroline Lovette.
This is the sixth Player of the Week honor of Lydic's career and third this season. She was named Player of the Week on November 1 after placing second in the Mercer Invitational and on September 20 after her runner-up finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational. Lydic was also named Patriot League Golfer of the Week three times last season prior to being named the Patriot League Women's Golf Rookie of the Year after helping the Spiders to the conference championship in April.
Lydic and the Spiders will return to action at the Ironwood Invitational in Greenville, N.C. on April 1-2.
