RICHMOND, Va. — Lauren Jones and Olivia Wilkie have been named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association for their academic and competitive performances during the 2023-24 season. This is the sixth straight year multiple Spiders have earned WGCA All-American Scholars honors, extending the longest streak in program history. All-American Scholars are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and compete in at least half of their team's competitive rounds during the course of a season.
Jones, a rising senior, is the third golfer in program history to be named a WGCA All-American Scholar at least three times, joining Emily Ward (2019-22) and Lauren Folgosa (2007-09). She will enter her senior season with a career scoring average of 77.43 strokes, seventh best all-time among Spiders.
Wilkie, a rising junior, has been named a WGCA All-American Scholar for the second straight year. She is a two-time All-Conference selection who tied for third at the 2023 Patriot League Championship.
Richmond has now earned 14 All-American Scholar honors over the last six seasons. From its inaugural season in 2003 to 2018, Richmond totaled 11 All-American Scholar honors.
