RICHMOND, Va. — AEK Betsson Athens has signed Grant Golden for the 2024-25 season. It will be Golden's third year of professional basketball after stints with Vanoli Cremona in Italy (2023-24) and the Grand Rapids Gold in the NBA G League (2022-23). AEK B.C. competes in the Greek Basket League, the top league in Greece.
Golden, a four-time All-Atlantic 10 selection who led the Spiders to the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship and a win vs Big Ten champion Iowa in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, is the only player in Richmond history with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. He ranks second in program history in scoring, third in rebounds, and fourth in assists.
Golden is one of 32 Spiders who have gone to play professional basketball during the Chris Mooney era.
