RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team unveiled its 2024 fall schedule on Monday, featuring the River City Tennis open on Oct. 4-6 and the Conference Masters Qualifying tournament at Davidson College on Oct. 25-27.
"I'm very excited by this year's schedule," said third-year Head Coach Jacob Dunbar. "We have some great tournaments here in the fall, including our home event. It's always such a positive feeling to be able to compete at home in a part of our season that we don't often get to."
The Spiders open the fall slate on Sept. 14, as the team participates in the ITA Hall of Fame Classic in Williamsburg, Va. before traveling down to the ITA All-Americans on Sept. 21 in Cary, N.C. The River City Open, hosted by Richmond at the Westhampton Tennis Complex, is slated for Oct. 4-6. The team rounds out October with ITA Regionals on Oct. 17-22 before the Conference Masters Qualifying on Oct. 25-27. The Spiders will conclude the fall slate with the Liberty Hidden Dual Nov. 1-3 and finally the Conference Masters on Nov. 7.
"The schedule as a whole will give us the added strength needed to keep pushing us forward and challenge our team," said Dunbar. "We have a really talented group and I'm excited to see what they can do."
Dunbar welcomes back six players in Lara Bakhaya, Andrea Campodonico, Claire Le Du, Elizabeth Novak, Lainey O'Neil and Lucy Webber to the roster. Freshmen Sofia Barbulescu and Abby Lee also join the team for the fall schedule.
