
Spiders Mid-Pack After 2 Rounds at Sea Best Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Richmond Spiders fired rounds of 293 (+5) and 297 (+9) Monday and are in ninth place on the 15-team leaderboard through 36 holes at the Sea Best Invitational. The Spiders were paced by sophomore Maya Beasley, who carded back-to-back rounds of 1-under 71 and is tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard at 2-under par.
Richmond's 5-over 293 in Round 1 Monday morning was its best team round of the 2024-25 season. In addition to Beasley (1-under 71), the Spiders counted scores from junior Hannah Lydic (even-par 72), junior Olivia Wilkie (2-over 74), and freshman Caroline Thompson (4-over 76). Monday afternoon, Beasley led UR to a team score of 9-over (297) along with freshman Katie Magner (2-over 74) and juniors Lydic and Wilkie (both 4-over 76).
Richmond is part of a group of six teams separated by just five shots on the team leaderboard at San Jose Country Club.
Beasley (2-under 142) is just two shots back of a group of four golfers who share the 36-hole lead at 4-under par. Lydic is tied for 28th at 4-over par (148). Wilkie is two shots further back in a tie for 41st at 6-over par (150). UR's two freshmen are tied for 53rd (Magner at 9-over par) and 57th (Thompson at 10-over par).
Competing as an individual, senior Lauren Jones is tied for 62nd at 13-over par (157).
Tuesday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM.
