Doogan Listed Among ESPN’s Top 25 Women's College Basketball Players, Only Mid-Major Player Represented

RICHMOND, Va. — ESPN has tabbed University of Richmond women's basketball senior forward Maggie Doogan among the Top 25 players in the nation entering the 2025-26 season.
Doogan, who checks in at No. 25 on the list, is the only mid-major player included in ESPN's rankings. The Broomall, Pa. native helped Richmond capture its first NCAA Tournament victory in program history last spring, scoring 30 points and collecting 15 rebounds in the Spiders' first-round win over Georgia Tech before adding 27 points against UCLA in the second round.
The reigning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, Doogan averaged 17.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 55.5 percent from the field, 40.6 percent from three and 78.5 percent from the free throw line in 2024-25. She was named to the A-10 First Team, A-10 All-Academic Team and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team and was a semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.
Doogan's recognition adds to Richmond's growing national profile under head coach Aaron Roussell, as the Spiders have earned back-to-back Atlantic 10 regular-season titles, their first AP Top 25 ranking heading into the 2025-26 season and the program's first NCAA Tournament win last year.
