RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond senior forward Maggie Doogan has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week after averaging 25.0 points, 10 rebounds and 5.5 assists through the first two games of the season for the Spiders. Doogan shares the Player of the Week honor with George Mason's Zahirah Walton (26.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.5 spg, 3.0 apg, 45.0 FG%).
Doogan opened her senior campaign with a statement performance, recording 28 points, 13 rebounds and six assists on 10-of-16 shooting in an 83-49 win over Mount St. Mary's. She followed that effort with 22 points and seven boards on the road at No. 4 Texas, marking her 23rd career 20-point game and second straight as Richmond's leading scorer.
For the week, Doogan shot 54.5 percent from the floor and 100 percent at the free-throw line while ranking second in the A-10 in scoring and third in rebounding. The Broomall, Pa., native helped the Spiders to a 1-1 start as they opened the season nationally ranked for the first time in program history.
This marks Richmond's first weekly honor of the 2025-26 season and the seventh of Doogan's career. The Broomall, Pa. native was a three-time A-10 Player of the Week selection last season and last earned the honor for Richmond on Feb. 24, 2025. Rookie Ava Persichetti was highlighted on the A-10 weekly honor roll. She averaged 8.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0 percent from deep in the first week of her career.
Richmond heads to William & Mary on Wednesday for a matchup with the Tribe at 7 p.m. in Williamsburg before taking on Columbia on Nov. 15 in the Big Apple.
