Doogan Earns USBWA National Player of the Week, Named to NCAA Starting Five

RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond senior forward Maggie Doogan added two major national honors this week, earning Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and a spot on the March Madness Women's Basketball Starting Five for Week 3.
The Broomall, Pa., native averaged 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6.5 assists across Richmond's wins over Temple and Navy while adding two blocks per game for the Atlantic 10 preseason favorites. She opened the week with 31 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists against Temple, then followed with 17 points, 14 boards and four assists in Sunday's victory over Navy. On Monday, she also secured her third straight Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor.
The NCAA Starting Five recognition marks Doogan's first of the season after earning two selections during the 2024-25 campaign. The weekly honor highlights the nation's top five performers across Division I women's basketball.
Doogan currently leads Richmond in scoring, rebounding and assists and ranks among the nation's top statistical performers through the opening month of the season.
