Muniz Wins 3,000 as Richmond Closes Liberty Kickoff

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Richmond's women's track and field team competed on the final day of the Liberty Kickoff meet at the Brant Tolsma Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex. The day was highlighted by Hallie Muniz, who won the 3,000 meter.Â

Muniz claimed the 3,000 in a personal-best 9:39.31, finishing three seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Several Spiders recorded top-10 finishes and personal bests. In the 3,000, Mollie Fenn placed third in 9:48.22, followed by Brooke Reif in fifth at 9:58.40 and Paige Joyce in 10th in 10:14.98. Mia Paolino ran a personal-best 10:16.86 to finish 11th.

In the 500 meters, Morgan Elliott led Richmond with an eighth-place finish in 1:17.46. She was followed by Kayla Buback, who placed ninth in a personal-best 1:17.78, and Nina Lavelle, who also ran a personal-best to finish 12th in 1:23.31.

Aaleyah Foster opened her collegiate career with aa runner-up finish in the 800 meters, finishing with a personal-best 2:20.49.Â

In the 1000 meter, Caroline Donohoe finished fourth with a personal-best 2:54.60. Molly Flanagan followed (fifth), also finishing with a personal-best 2:55.93.Â
