RICHMOND, Va. — For the second time in three weeks, Spiders freshman guard Aiden Argabright has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Argabright averaged 13.5 points and two assists per game while leading Richmond to a pair of wins over Belmont and Old Dominion last week to rocket UR into the top 100 of the NET rankings.
Argabright is just the second Spider in the last eight years to earn multiple A-10 Rookie of the Week honors, joining Jason Nelson in 2022-23.
Argabright leads the Spiders in scoring (11.3 points per game) and steals (1.7 per game) and ranks second on the team with 2.1 assists per game as Richmond has opened 8-1, equaling its best nine-game start in 21 seasons under Chris Mooney. He is the only Atlantic 10 freshman averaging at least 10 points per game this season and his 102 total points off the bench are third most among all players in the conference, trailing only Rhode Island's Jahmere Tripp (121) and VCU's Terrence Hill (118).
Argabright and the Spiders will return to action Saturday at the Robins Center when they host Southern Illinois at 6 PM on ESPN Plus.
