Richmond to Host NCAA Selection Show Watch Party Sunday Night in Spider Hall

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond women's basketball fans are invited to Spider Hall on Sunday night to watch the NCAA Selection Show as the 68-team field will be unveiled. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with the show airing live on ESPN at 8 p.m.

The Spiders (27-6) are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, highlighted by a program-best 17-game winning streak and a hard-fought battle in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals, bowing out of the tournament by a one point loss. Richmond now aims for its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and its first at-large bid since 2005.
Richmond's resume speaks for itself, boasting a 72.1 points per game scoring average while holding opponents to just 57 points per contest. The Spiders have been dominant from beyond the arc, shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range while limiting opponents to just 30.1 percent. They have also showcased their defensive prowess with 7.2 steals and 3.9 blocks per game. The program notched wins over Oklahoma State, Ivy League regular season champion Columbia, and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season champion Fairfield this season.
