
Spiders Add Indiana State Transfer, Richmond Native Jaden Daughtry

RICHMOND, Va. — Jaden Daughtry, a 6'7" forward from Indiana State, will transfer to Richmond and play for the Spiders this upcoming season. Daughtry is a Richmond, Va., native who prepped at both L.C. Bird and Benedictine before attending Hargrave Military Academy.
Daughtry is coming off a breakout sophomore season at Indiana State in the Missouri Valley Conference. He appeared in all 32 games with three starts for the Sycamores, averaging 12.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the field, tops in the conference.
At the conclusion of the regular season, Daughtry was named to the MVC's Most Improved Team and its All-Bench Team, the only player selected to both teams. Daughtry led the MVC and ranked 12th in Division I in points per 40 minutes last season at 26.6.
Daughtry appeared in 12 games as a freshman in 2023-24, averaging 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game as the Sycamores won the MVC regular season title.
Daughtry twice earned All-Metro honors from the Richmond Times-Dispatch during his prep career. In 2022 at Benedictine, Daughtry averaged 23.2 points per game and was a First Team VISAA All-State selection. In 2021 at L.C. Bird, he averaged 14.3 points and five rebounds per game and was named the Class 5 Region B Player of the Year after leading Bird to a regional title and a spot in the state semifinals.
Daughtry is the third member of Richmond's 2025 transfer class, joining Will Johnston (Loyola Marymount) and David Thomas (DePaul) .
