Wickersham led the Spiders to their first win of the season Saturday night, a weather-delayed 14-10 triumph at Wofford. He completed 20 of 29 passes for 153 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown connection with sophomore running back Andrew King. Wickersham was Richmond's leading rusher with 78 yards on 17 carries. His 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter proved to be the game winner, and a bruising 14-yard run on third and nine late in the game sealed the triumph for the Spiders. The Metairie, La. native has returned as the Spiders' starting signal-caller after missing the last nine games of the 2024 season with injury.
Behind The Web will be held throughout the college football season on 12 consecutive Thursdays, including the Spiders' bye week. The program will be archived on richmondspiders.com and in the Audio Vault at espnrichmond.com for on demand listening.
Behind The Web is a production of Spider Sports Properties from Playfly Sports and ESPN Richmond, the radio home of the Spiders for 20 consecutive years. In addition to Bar West, Spider sponsors for the show are University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies, Luck Chevrolet, Dan Caldwell, representative of Osaic Wealth Incorporated, Pepsi, Davenport & Co. and Invest 529.Â
