RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's soccer team dropped a tough 2-0 decision to George Mason Thursday afternoon at President's Field. With the result, the Spiders fell to 3-4-3 overall and 0-2-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while the Patriots improved to 3-5-2 and 2-0-0 in conference.

How It Happened
The Patriots grabbed the lead in the 11th minute when Zoë Vidaurre finished inside the box off a pass from Gianna Chrapek. After back and forth possession to round out the first half, George Mason doubled its advantage in the 51st minute as Molly Starner converted with assists from Vidaurre and Maria Franjicic.

The Spiders registered six shots in the match, highlighted by a first-half attempt on goal from Emma Newman while Spider keeper Veronica Rrapi finished with two saves.

Notes on the Game

Newman posted Richmond's lone shot on target in the 16th minute.
Richmond held a 4-3 edge in second-half corner kicks after trailing 3-0 in the first half.
Rrapi recorded two saves in her eighth start of the season.
Schneider, Hughes and Sophia Jurado each added late attempts as the Spiders finished with six shots. .
