Spiders Picked 9th in Preseason Poll
RICHMOND, Va. — Sophomore guard Aiden Argabright has been named to the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Third Team, while the Spiders were picked ninth in the conference's preseason poll, the league announced Monday prior to the start of A10 Media Day in Washington, D.C.
Argabright averaged 10.8 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals per game as a freshman last season. He was named to the A10 All-Rookie Team after leading all conference freshmen in scoring and finishing among the league leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6, fifth). Argabright was the first Spider to earn All-Rookie Team honors since Grant Golden in 2018.
Monday's preseason honor is the first of Argabright's career. He is one of six players named to the Preseason All-Conference Third Team, joining George Mason's Brayden O'Connor, George Washington's Jean Aranguren, Rhode Island's Jonah Hinton and Jahmere Tripp, and Saint Louis' Ishan Sharma. Richmond has now had a Preseason All-Atlantic 10 selection in 14 of the last 15 seasons.
Richmond's 138 points in the preseason poll placed the Spiders between eighth-place Davidson (144) and 10th-place Duquesne (130). VCU was picked to win the league with 308 points and 11 first-place votes, one point ahead of Saint Louis, which received 10 first-place votes. Dayton was selected third with 279 points and two first-place votes.
Spider fans can currently purchase season tickets, mini-plans and single-game tickets for the upcoming season. Tickets can be purchased online through the Richmond Athletics Ticket Office, by calling 1-877-SPIDER-1, or in person at the Robins Center Ticket Office.
