RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond women's basketball forward Maggie Doogan has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week after leading the Spiders to a 2-0 week with league victories over St. Bonaventure and at Davidson.
Doogan averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 61.5 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from three-point range across the two wins. She finished the week 16-of-26 from the floor and 10-of-11 at the free throw line, continuing her dominant stretch in conference play.
The senior opened the week with 23 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to record her ninth double-double of the season in Richmond's win over St. Bonaventure. The Spiders outscored the Bonnies 45-20 in the second half to extend their home conference win streak to 31 games inside the Robins Center.
Doogan followed with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting in the road victory at Davidson. During the win, she scored her 2,000th career point to become just the third player in program history to reach the milestone.
The honor marks Doogan's seventh Atlantic 10 Player of the Week selection this season and the 13th weekly conference recognition of her career, and the first since Rachel Ullstrom was tabbed A-10 Player of the Week on Jan. 19.
Richmond faces George Mason later today at 4 p.m. in Fairfax, Va., before heading to Washington, D.C., to take on George Washington on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.
