Ullstrom Lands Spot on Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award Top 10

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond women's basketball guard Rachel Ullstrom has been selected as one of 10 midseason nominees for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award, as announced by the Naismith Starting 5 committee in collaboration with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.
The award recognizes the top shooting guards in women's college basketball each season, with Ullstrom representing Richmond among a national list that includes players from Baylor, BYU, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, South Carolina, UCLA, UConn and Vanderbilt.
Ullstrom has been a cornerstone of Richmond's success this season, averaging 15.4 points per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from three-point range through 22 games played.
A four-year contributor for Richmond, Ullstrom has totaled 1,471 career points and 246 made three-pointers, ranking among the program's all-time leaders in both categories. She has recorded multiple career highs this season, including a career-best 14 rebounds against Penn State on Dec. 21. In addition, she holds the program record for most three pointers made in a game with 11 against Oakland on 11/29/24.
Fan voting for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award will open Friday, Feb. 6, at hoophallawards.com. Fan voting will count as one vote in the final selection process.
The final five candidates will be revealed during the week of March 16, with additional voting scheduled to begin March 20. The winner and presentation details will be announced later in the season.
The Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award is part of the Naismith Starting 5 Awards, which honor the top players at each position in Division I women's basketball.
