Track and Field Celebrates Senior Day, Posts Multiple Top-Five Finishes

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Fred Hardy Invitational on Senior Day on Friday at Robins Stadium at Fred Hardy Track. Members of the Spider men's cross country team also competed at the meet.

Three Spiders captured first-place finishes, and nine Spiders finished in the top three across 17 events.

In the 400 meters, Caroline Donohoe captured first with a personal-best time of 55.97 seconds, qualifying for the ECAC Championships. Ashley Bolesh finished third in 57.40.

In the 1,500 meters, Hallie Muniz captured first in 4:30.19 and qualified for the ECAC Championships. Mollie Fenn finished sixth in 4:38.57.

In the 4x400-meter relay, the A relay of Morgan Elliott, Bolesh, Kayla Buback and Donohoe finished first in 3:53.62. The B relay of Nina Lavelle, Aaleyah Foster, Ava LoVuolo and Molly Flanagan finished third in 4:00.35.

Sydney Phillips finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.63 meters and placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.60 meters.

In the 3,000 meters, Phoebe Rubio finished second with a personal-best time of 9:49.26.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Mia Paolino finished second in 11:10.27, and Addie Cohen finished fifth with a personal-best time of 11:20.28.

In the 5,000 meters, Brooke Reif finished second with a personal-best time of 17:31.59. Lydia Shields finished fourth in 17:42.12, Lily Strebel finished eighth in 18:06.73, and Paige Joyce finished ninth in 18:15.18.
For the men's cross country team, Cooper Groat finished second in the 800 meters in 1:52.57.

In the 1,500 meters, William Marhold finished ninth with a personal-best time of 3:57.67, and Carter Bruns finished 13th with a personal-best time of 3:58.83.

Andy Condon finished second in the 3,000 meters in 8:29.69. Henry Haase finished fourth in 8:31.48, and Alex Mastroly finished fifth in 8:34.96.

The A relay of Groat, Joshua Gray, Jason Raffel and Marhold finished eighth in the 4x400-meter relay.
