RICHMOND, Va. — Spiders guard Aiden Argabright will return to Richmond for his sophomore season, he announced Tuesday. Argabright, Richmond's second-leading scorer and an A-10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman, shared the following statement:
"Spider Family,
I am so thankful for the memories made this year at Richmond. Playing in the Robins Center and for the University of Richmond has been a dream come true. After discussions with my family, I am excited to return to Richmond next season. I couldn't see myself playing for any coach other than Coach Mooney, and I'm excited for his vision next year and moving forward for this program. We have a lot of work to do leading into next year, and I'm excited to lead the team on that journey. Let's get to work!"
Argabright will enter the 2026-27 season as Richmond's top returning scorer after he averaged 10.8 points, the most of any Atlantic 10 freshman, in 31 games last season. He also led all conference first-year players in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6) and steals per game (1.2) while ranking second with 2.0 assists per game.
"Aiden did so many things well for us last season, and making sure that he had the opportunity to continue his development at Richmond was a top priority for us this offseason," said Spiders coach Chris Mooney. "In addition to being a tremendous player, he's a dedicated student and an exceptionally hard worker, and I'm looking forward to having him lead us on the court, on campus, and in the locker room this season."
Argabright was named A-10 Rookie of the Week four times during the season and selected for the league's All-Rookie Team in March, the first Spider to land on that team since 2018 (Grant Golden).
He finished his rookie campaign with 141 free throws, second most of any player in the A-10 and the most by a Richmond freshman since Ed Harrison in 1952-53. Argabright's 335 total points are the 12th most by a Spider freshman in program history.
