RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Campbell on Wednesday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. With the win, the Spiders improve to 2-6 on the spring season, while the Camels move to 1-6.

How It Happened
Campbell secured the doubles point with wins on courts three and two. Mollie Garcia and Sandra Mari Marti opened doubles play with a 6-0 decision over Elizabeth Novak and Amy Walsh at No. 3. Ilouna Aneca and Sonia Pieczynska followed with a 6-2 victory against Lainey O'Neil and Lucy Webber at No. 2 to clinch the early point for the visitors. The top doubles match featuring Sofia Barbulescu and Abby Lee against Aubrey Carroll and Hayley Glen was halted with Campbell leading 4-3.

Richmond responded in singles play, claiming all six courts to secure the team victory. Elizabeth Novak tied the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Sonia Pieczynska at No. 2 before Lucy Webber added a straight-set 6-3, 6-2 decision against Ilouna Aneca at No. 4 to give the Spiders their first lead of the afternoon.

Sofia Barbulescu extended the advantage at the top position, defeating Sandra Mari Marti 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in three sets. Beatriz Guerra followed with a comeback win at No. 5, rallying past Hayley Glen 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Abby Lee clinched the match for Richmond with a three-set victory over Mollie Garcia on court three, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2. Lainey O'Neil closed the afternoon at No. 6 with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8) result against Aubrey Carroll.
