RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team earned a decisive 4-0 victory over Howard Friday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. With the win, the Spiders improve to 10-8 on the spring season, while the Bison fall to 1-11.

How It Happened
Richmond secured the doubles point with wins on courts three and two. Charlie Burdell and Grant Cohen cruised to a 6-1 victory on court three to get things started, before Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner clinched the point with a 6-4 decision on court two. The top doubles match featuring Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley was left unfinished at 5-3.

The Spiders carried that momentum into singles, winning three straight completed matches to seal the team victory. Charlie Burdell extended the lead to 2-0 with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win on court two while Dylan Atkinson followed with a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory on court four to push the Spiders within one point of the match clinch.

Otto Sewell then clinched the win on court five with a 6-2, 6-3 decision, securing the 4-0 result for Richmond. Matches on courts one, three and six went unfinished, with Davis Wiley leading 7-5, 1-0 at the top spot.
