RICHMOND, Va. — The Atlantic 10 announced its Golfer of the Week and Rookie of the Week winners for the first half of the spring semester Thursday, with a trio of Spiders combining for four weekly honors. Freshman Addie Doroh was named A-10 Rookie of the Week for the weeks ending on February 6 and March 6. Junior Maya Beasley was the conference's Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 13, and senior Hannah Lydic was the conference's Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 6 as Spiders combined to capture four the eight weekly awards announced by the conference.
These are the third and fourth Rookie of the Week awards for Doroh, who was honored for her results at the Tribe Invitational (fifth) and Evie Odom Invitational (tied for 31st) in the fall. She tied for 13th at the Sea Best Intercollegiate in late January to earn her first Rookie of the Week award of the spring and then picked up her second for tying for 32nd at the More Than Golf Invitational in early March. Doroh has finished in the top 35 in six of her eight events this season, including each of her last five starts.
Lydic, the defending individual champion in the Atlantic 10, picked up her first conference Player of the Week award this season for leading Richmond with an 11th-place finish at the More Than Golf Invitational. Beasley was honored after she tied for ninth at the Low Country Intercollegiate in mid-March while leading Richmond to a third-place finish in the 15-team event.
With this week's Terps Invitational and the Atlantic 10 Championship on April 20-22 remaining, UR has finished in the top five in all four of its events this spring.
The Spiders will open play at the University Maryland Golf Course at 8:30 AM Sunday for Rounds 1 & 2 of Maryland's Terps Invitational.
