Spiders to Head to Chapel Hill for NCAA Women's Golf Regionals

RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Spiders will compete in the Chapel Hill Regional of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships on May 11-13, the NCAA announced Wednesday. Richmond, which earned the automatic bid from the Atlantic 10 after winning its second straight A-10 title last Wednesday, will compete along with 11 other teams and six individuals at Finley Golf Club. The top five teams from each of the six regional sites will advance to compete at the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. from May 22-27.
This will be Richmond's sixth team appearance in the NCAA Championship. The Spiders finished 11th at the NCAA Regional at Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville last year, team's best finish at an NCAA Regional in program history.
Richmond will be competing alongside Texas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kent State, Virginia, Michigan State, NC State, High Point, Furman, Howard, and host North Carolina.
