Sheridan Named First Team Academic All-America by College Sports Communicators

Richmond, Va. – Recent University of Richmond graduate, men's lacrosse team captain, and All-American Joe Sheridan has been named a First Team Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
One of the nation's highest honors for student-athletes, the Academic All-America program recognizes individuals for their outstanding achievements both in the classroom and in competition.
Sheridan, an All-American midfielder and Richmond's Atlantic 10 postgraduate scholarship recipient, graduated in May with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. He helped lead the Spiders to one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2026, earning Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year honors, a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, and All-America recognition from USA Lacrosse, Inside Lacrosse, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Sheridan is one of just 17 student-athletes named to the CSC Academic All-America Division I First Team, a group that combined for a 3.96 cumulative GPA this season. He is just one of two lacrosse players to join the men's All-American At-Large team, joining Cornell's Brendan Staub.
