Five Spiders Named to Nike Lacrosse/Inside Lacrosse Freshman Rankings

Richmond, Va.— Five incoming Richmond men's lacrosse players have been named to the Nike Lacrosse/Inside Lacrosse Freshman Rankings, highlighted by two players ranked among the nation's top 40.
Richmond's five selections rank eighth nationally among all Division I programs, and the Spiders are the only Atlantic 10 team represented on the list of the nation's top incoming freshmen. Richmond's five ranked freshmen trail only Notre Dame, Maryland, Johns Hopkins, Virginia, Duke, Princeton and Harvard.
Midfielder Gavin Gilmore leads the group at No. 32, followed by attackman Matthew Ford at No. 39, defenseman Michael Marino at No. 53, attackman Hunter Harris at No. 69 and defenseman Matthew Meredith at No. 99.
Gilmore comes to Richmond from Paul VI (Va.), Ford from Hill Academy (Ont.), Marino from Don Bosco Prep (N.J.), Harris from Western Reserve Academy and Meredith from Boys' Latin.
The five selections continue a strong recent run of nationally ranked Richmond recruits. Gavin Creo ('27) was ranked No. 62, Aidan O'Neil ('26) No. 63, Joe Sheridan ('26) No. 82 and Vincent Gaylord ('29) No. 75 in their respective class' Nike Lacrosse/Inside Lacrosse Freshman Rankings.
Those players went on to make major contributions for the Spiders. O'Neil, Sheridan and Creo all became All-Americans, while Gaylord made an immediate impact, earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year honors in 2026.
