Summer Series: Quinn Kennedy
08/19/2026 | Women's Lacrosse
Hi everyone! My name is Quinn Kennedy and I am a rising sophomore defender on the Women's lacrosse team here at Richmond!
My summer has been busy and I'm so excited to tell you all about it!
The first half of the summer I was in my home town of Darien, Connecticut, spending time with family and friends. We celebrated my birthday at the end of May by going to my favorite restaurant! As you can see from the photo below, it was AWESOME!

In addition to this, I worked out at my gym and played a bunch of pick-up lacrosse, while also giving lessons to some of the little girls I used to coach. I also enjoyed a couple of things I missed while at school: my mom’s home-cooked meals and sleeping in my old bed, HA!
I managed to squeeze in a trip to New York City with friends to see a Knicks playoff game. Such a cool experience to be there for their final win at home.
At the beginning of July I headed to Nantucket to start my new job at Get Joy. It was so fun to see my summer friends and the beautiful beaches and sunsets on the island!

There's an awesome turf field out there so it was really convenient to meet up and train with my lacrosse friends from around the country. Consistency is key!
If you know me, you know I am SUCH a foodie! I loved sampling all the new hot spots around the island.
My sister and I lifted three times a week at our club which we rarely get to do together. We motivated each other!
I worked at one of the stands at Cisco Brewery, Get Joy, an all natural dog food company started by a family in my home town. This was such a great experience because my days were constantly filled with live music and meeting new people.

It was awesome to spend time with family in a setting that wasn’t our usual scene in Connecticut! We took long walks along the beach and biked all over the island. Of course we also spent a ton of time in the ocean!
I’m writing this as I head home from Nantucket on the ferry.
See everyone soon!
