Cross Country Ready to Race at Spider Alumni Open

RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Spiders cross country teams will open their season Saturday at the annual Spider Alumni Open at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. The men's 6K race will begin at 9:08 AM and the women's 4K race will begin at 9:50 AM. The event is free to attend, and live results will be available.
Men's coach Steve Taylor previewed Saturday's event spoke about the outlook for the team earlier this week. Seniors Eric Scully and Carter Bruns also offered their views on their leadership roles on the team.
Women's coach Lori Taylor discussed how the team's offseason training has prepared her team for Saturday and beyond. Juniors Addie Cohen and Mia Paolino also preview their third seasons with the Spiders.

The Atlantic 10 released its annual Cross Country Preseason Poll Friday. The Richmond women were picked third, behind George Washington and Loyola Chicago. The Richmond men were picked ninth, with Loyola Chicago topping the poll.
