Meaghan Neylon rejoined the Spider Hockey staff in August of 2023 after wrapping up a three year stint in summer of 2021.
Neylon helped navigate the program through a canceled fall season in 2020 and a shortened spring 2021 season, working with Atlantic 10 All-Conference goalkeeper Erika Latta. In the shortened seven-game season, Latta finished eighth in the country with a .812 saves percentage, averaging 3.71 saves per game, and tenth in the country with a 0.91 goals against average.
Neylon helped lead the Spiders to an 11-10 record -- the program's first winning record since 2015 -- and 6-2 mark in Atlantic 10 play in 2019 to tie for second place in the league. The Spiders defeated UMass 3-1 in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals as the No. 3 seed, and fell in a defensive battle to No. 13 Saint Joseph's in the team's first Championship Game appearance since 2015. SeniorElise Zwicklbauer earned First Team All-Conference honors, while senior Amanda DaSilva and sophomores Steffie Bongers and Addie Nash earned Second Team honors and freshman Lindsey Frank was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Neylon helped lead the Spiders to the program's 18th-consecutive Atlantic 10 Tournament in 2018 after finishing the regular season at 4-4 in the conference. The Spiders fell to 10th-ranked Saint Joseph's in the A-10 Semifinals, 3-1, finishing the season at 7-11 overall. Newcomers Addie Nash and Steffie Bongers were named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team, while junior Elise Zwicklbauer and sophomore Abra Granger were named to the conference's All-Academic Team

Before coming to Richmond, Neylon spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Georgetown. While with the Hoyas, she helped mentor the goalkeeping core, including Rachel Skonecki, who ranked sixth nationally in save percentage in 2015 and posted four shutouts, the most by a Hoya since the 1994 season.

Before Georgetown, Neylon spent two seasons as an assistant at Longwood, where she was also responsible for goalkeeper development. While with the Lancers, she was also focused on midfield development, academic progress, recruiting, team travel, budget and film analysis. In 2014, she mentored goalkeeper Lauren Bernard, who was the first Lancer keeper to earn First Team All-Mid American Conference honors.

A native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Neylon was a four-year letterwinner at VCU, where she played as a midfielder and defender for the Rams. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2013.
