Alex Day joined the University of Richmond in January 2020 after a successful nine-year run with the University of South Florida football program. As the Spiders video coordinator, Day handles the filming of all practices and games.
In addition, Day is responsible for the ingestion of all opponent film for game study. He also provides coaches support for Richmond’s video editing system, DVSport, and any technology related issues inevitably run through his office. Head coach Russ Huesman has described him as “the best video coordinator in the country.” He manages a staff of five student videographers.
Born and raised in Sarasota, FL, Day joined the South Florida football team as a student videographer in 2011 and was promoted to assistant video coordinator in 2015. He worked with legendary head coaches Skip Holtz, Willie Taggart and Charlie Strong. He has been a member of the Collegiate Sports Video Association since 2013.
