2023 marked Zacharias’ first year as Cornerbacks Coach in Febraury 2023 after spending the 2022 season at Georgetown where he was the secondary coach.
Zacharias’ first season on staff was highlighted by the success of his young corners group. D’Angelo Stocker, Trae Tomlinson and Jabril Hayes, three of the top athletes in this unit combined for 121 tackles, 7 interceptions and 11 pass breakups. Hayes was named as a member of the Fifth Team All-CAA by Phil Steele after individually recording 23 tackles including 19 solo, two pass breakups and three interceptions.
Prior to his time at Georgetown, Zacharias spent four seasons with Fordham and has had previous coaching stints at IUP, Central Michigan and CAA member Towson.
In his time at Fordham, hed native guided eight players to All-Patriot League selections, including 2021 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Ryan Greenhagen.
At Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2017-18), Zacharias guided Crimson Hawk cornerback JR Stevens to the All-PSAC Second Team and First Team All-Region honors.
Prior to his two years at IUP, Zacharias coached the outside linebackers and cornerbacks for two seasons at Central Michigan, owning the sixth-ranked pass defense in the Mid-American Conference in 2016 and giving up just under 223 yards per game through the air. Junior cornerback Amari Coleman tied the MAC lead with four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns to earn All-MAC First Team honors.
The 2013 graduate of Monmouth picked up his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice after playing four seasons for the Hawks.
