John Miller enters his fifth season as an assistant coach at the University of Richmond after spending seven seasons as an assistant coach at Rider University.
During his first four seasons with the Spiders, Miller assisted the program to 59 overall wins. In 2014-15, Richmond finished with a 19-14 overall record and the most Atlantic 10 wins (t-9) in 10 seasons, resulting in a WNIT berth (2nd Round). Miller has also been instrumental in the recruitment and development of four Atlantic 10 All-Conference and one All-Rookie Team selections.
From 2007 to 2014, Miller served as an assistant coach under Lynn Milligan at Rider, helping lead the program to the fifth most single-season wins (t-15) in program history in 2012-13 and 2013-14. In 2012-13, Rider also tied the program record for MAAC conference wins (10) in a season (10). As Rider’s offensive coordinator, the program finished in the top five in the MAAC in points per game in both 2012-13 and 2013-14. During his tenure with the Broncs, Miller recruited and developed six MAAC All-Conference and five All-Rookie Team selections.
Prior to joining the Rider staff, Miller spent one season as an assistant coach under Vanessa Blair at Mount St. Mary’s University in 2006-07. That season, Miller assisted The Mount to the program’s most NEC wins (10) in six seasons.
Miller graduated from Mount St. Mary’s in 2006 with a degree in business and earned his MBA from The Mount in 2008.
