Richmond Cruises To A 97-62 Victory

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders placed six players in double figures as they lit up Radford 97-62 Friday night at the Robins Center. It was the most points scored by Richmond on the Spiders' home court since January 29, 1996.
Sophomore center Eric Zwayer (Sebring, Fla./Sebring) posted his first career double-double, 18 points and 10 rebounds, both career-highs. Senior Greg Stevenson (Fayetteville, N.C./71st) led all scorers with 19 points, 17 of those coming in the second stanza. Sophomore Reggie Brown (Flushing, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and junior Scott Ungerer (Syracuse, N.Y/Westhill) scored 18 and 15 points, respectively. Radford guard Raymond Hornbuckle had 14 points for the Highlanders while his teammate Jason Williams pumped in 13.
Richmond took its first lead at the 18:22 mark of the first half on a Tim Faulconer dunk and never relinquished it. The Spiders led by as many as 14 in the first half behind 11 first half points from Brown.
Richmond's largest lead (35) came with :54 seconds remaining on a Zwayer lay-in and proved to be the final score, 97-62. The Spiders outscored the Highlanders in the paint, 38-4.
The Spiders entertain 18th ranked Wake Forest Monday, November 20. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
