RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond senior midfielder Megan Conway (Forty-Fort, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) collected her 23rd career assist at the 15:24 mark of the first half becoming the program's all-time assist leader on Senior Day at Crenshaw Field. However, it would not be enough as the Spiders fell to cross-town rival VCU this afternoon, 3-1.
Richmond jumped out to a 1-0 lead when sophomore Kristen Gavin (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) scored her second goal of the season midway through the first half. The Rams would tie the contest at 1-1 with 1:45 to go in the first half when VCU sophomore Lauren Sparrow found the back of the net.
VCU would connect on the game-winner at the 27:48 mark of the second half. Senior Masha Sonina score gave the Rams a 2-1 advantage. With the loss, Richmond falls to 7-13.
