Men's Basketball Edges Out N.C. Wilmington, 41-37

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Kinte Smith scored the first seven points of a low-scoring first half and finished with 15 to lead Richmond to a 41-37 win Wednesday over North Carolina-Wilmington.
N.C.-Wilmington led 18-15 at halftime before Richmond (11-4, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) went on a 12-2 run in the first seven minutes of the second half.
N.C.-Wilmington's Barron Thelmon hit a driving layup with 34 seconds left to cut the Spiders' lead to 40-37. The Seahawks forced a turnover on the inbounds play, but Brett Blizzard's 3-point attempt bounced off the rim.
The Spiders shot just 28 percent from the floor while North Carolina-Wilmington (9-7, 2-3) connected on 32 percent of their field goals.
Greg Stevenson added 10 points and 18 rebounds for Richmond. Blizzard led the Seahawks with 12 points.
