
Long Distance Shooting Leads To Easy Win For Richmond, 68-39

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Rick Houston hit six 3-pointers to score a season-high 18 points Saturday night as Richmond defeated James Madison 68-39.
Reggie Brown also scored 18 points, and Greg Stevenson finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
The Spiders (9-3, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) missed their first nine shots of the game but held the Dukes (5-9, 1-3) to 5 of 17 (29 percent) from the floor to take a 29-14 halftime lead.
Richmond shot nine for 13 (69 percent) from 3-point range in the second half and led by as many as 29 points. The Dukes could get no closer than 11.
The Dukes had trouble controlling the ball, committing 16 turnovers compared with the Spiders' five.
Pat Mitchell led the Dukes with 13 points.
