UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Junior Reggie Brown (Flushing, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) and sophomore Mike Skrocki (Howell, N.J./Christian Brothers) scored 18 points each in leading the Richmond Spiders to a 99-65 win over Interhoop in the team's only exhibition.
Five Richmond players posted double figures. Senior Tim Faulconer (Santa Clarita, Calif./Northampton Williston) added 14 points and six rebounds. Newcomers, sophomore Tony Dobbins (Mitchellville, Md./Va. Tech) and freshman Jason Morton (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian) scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Spiders never trailed in the contest, leading by as many as 18 in the first half and 36 points in the second stanza. As a team, Richmond scored 39 points off of the Latvia team's 26 turnovers. In addition, the Spiders collected 12 steals in the contest.
Richmond, 22-7 a year ago, opens its 2001-02 season this Friday, November 16 hosting Appalachian State. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Robins Center.
