BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Mike Skrocki blocked Mo Finley's try for a game-winning shot with just seconds left, and Richmond held on to beat UAB 60-59 Saturday night.
After Skrocki's block, Finley grabbed a rebound and attempted a final shot, but it bounced off the rim at the buzzer.
Tony Dobbins led the scoring for Richmond (2-0) with 21 points. Scott Ungerer added 15 points, including three 3-point shots, and had 10 rebounds. Skrocki scored 10 points.
Morris Finley led the scoring for UAB (1-3) with 16 points. P.J. Arnold added 14 points and Will Campbell added 13. Arnold had 10 rebounds and Will Campbell had eight.
Richmond led 53-44 with 9:02 remaining, but the Blazers battled back with a 15-7 run.
The run was sparked by Finley, who hit a pair of 3-point shots, and guard P.J. Arnold, who hit a three-pointer to make the score 60-57 with 1:41 to play.
