LAS VEGAS (AP) - Reggie Brown scored 26 points and Richmond took control early in the second half in beating Louisiana-Monroe 80-58 Friday in a third-round game of the Las Vegas Classic.
Brown made 10 of 19 shots and also had five assists as the Spiders (4-5) won their first game after two losses in the eight-team tournament, which finishes Saturday.
Mike Skrocki added a career-high 15 points and seven rebounds and Tony Dobbins scored 14 points for Richmond. Scott Ungerer had eight points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Spiders.
Brian Lubeck led Louisiana-Monroe with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Kirby Lemons added 14 points. The Indians (3-5) are winless in three tournament games.
Richmond went ahead for good by scoring eight straight points to go ahead 11-6. The Spiders led by as many as nine points before settling for a 36-29 halftime lead.
Louisiana-Monroe got as close as three points early in the second half, and it was 48-43 when the Spiders outscored the Indians 17-3 for a 65-46 lead.
Richmond made 17 of 30 shots in the second half (56.7 percent) and 28-of-61 overall including of 13-of-36 from 3-point range.
Louisiana-Monroe made 18 of 49 shots including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc.
